Amber & Fashion Plates

I think Fashion Plates had a negative impact on my ability to get dressed quickly in the morning.  My process of Outfit Selection now is much like it was when I played Fashion Plates.  I have to select top and a bottom, and then color and texture for those components, and then I also have to choose a head and feet.  It can take a long time.

Tonight, I get to volunteer at this scoopy event, which necesitated extra special outfit selection.  I went sort of post-Halloween/autumnal/signature style.

See?  My orange sweater matches the feet I selected for the outfit and also a little bit the head.  And for my head, I also chose giant earrings, which maybe you can't see so clearly in this shot.  I only wish I had used a little less cat hair texture on my sweater.

Kevin is also dressed for the event.  He is wearing a flannel shirt and woolen trouser.  We are going to be the best name-tag hander-outers ever.

So, thank you, Fashion Plates, for teaching me good outfit assembly skills.  But also, I am sorry people who have to wait for me to get ready to go places.

Amber & Elsewhere

The kitties and I spent a quiet, post-haircut evening in the house on Halloween.  We watched some programs, drank some tea, and texted with poor Nick who was stuck on an Amtrak not moving in the middle of the darkness for several hours.  (Talk about the plot of a new Halloween movie!)  (No wait, don't.  You'll scare me.)  "R U moving yet?"  "Lights on. Conductor making announcement."  etc.

Others, like James, spent the night out amongst the spooks and ladies going as smutty aliens.  He marched, bagpipe playing in the Halloween parade.

I love that fez.  And James tells me that the shirt is a souvenir from his recent trip to China.  You can see more amazing photos from Jimmy's adventure here.

Different strokes for different folks.  Some of us are just braver than others.  And some have more facial hair.

Amber & Spooks

Was it a mistake getting my hair cut on Halloween?  I feel like that was asking for It.  But, I think it's okay.

Right?

And candy, of course

Amber & Seasonal Spooky Delights

Kevin's love of, and lack of self control pertaining to, Dots is one of his Distinguishing Characteristic Properties. He has eaten them for longer than I have known him, and often remarks on the freshness or the particular gumminess of each batch. He is a Dot connoisseur.

Yesterday, he partook of a new seasonal offering, the Ghost Dot, which you can read about in greater detail here.Essentially, it's a spooky green dot in some mysterious unnamed flavor. (Although the web buzz seems to be that maybe each one is a different flavor.)

For the forthcoming holiday season, Dots also come in blood orange Bat Dots and Candy Corn Dots. I can't wait for Kevin to try them all. I think he liked the Ghost Dots on account of how he ate the whole box.
