Amber & No Way To Know

Poor Pickles.

He can't do anything without me watching him like a neurotic mother hawk.  He seems to be better-- at least he is using the litter box less frequently and depositing bigger clumps.  But, he also seems to be sleeping alot, but he is a cat and that is what they do.  Is he sleeping more than his siblings?  Maybe.  He doesn't seem to be eating very much, but that could be an upset tummy from the meds or maybe because he had to give up his favorite dry bunny food.  Maybe?

He mews alot.  But he did that before, didn't he?  And he is laying under the bed and behind the desk alot, but maybe that's because it's so hot?  And he is playing with fleece wand, and he does come out for treats.  Is he better than he was over the weekend?  Yes, definitely.  Is he completely well?

Amber & But Wait, There's LOTS More

I know I was super excited about the two new Boneses just one post ago. But, if I weren't already away for the weekend, I would have a very full schedule!

There's a new Psych about firemen. What could be better? Gus and Sean making pop cultural references from my youth, witty fast-paced banter, and fake psychic MURDER solving? What?

And then, there's a new Burn Notice. This is a show about a former spy trying to figure out who framed him and got him laid off. The thing that makes this show is the voice over where the main character, Michael Westen, explains how spy things are done. It's like a DIY home spy kit. I've learned all kinds of things about making my own cover identity, bomb construction from yogurt in my kitchen, and breaking and entering. Educational. And, in this episode, maybe he will find out that his archnemisis is a Cylon and maybe she's just in his head?

There are probably alot more free Internet Programs (BSG, Lost, 30 Rock, etc.) to tell you about in case you were wondering how to spend your weekend, but I want to go to brunch now. You keep watching.

Amber & Burgers & Tags

Hello, it's me, CRD. I'm guest-blogging for Amber today on account of how she is unavailable. She's busy now lighting the paper lanterns and making 1000 paper cranes for the New York Gardening Society's Annual Godzilla Festival.

One thing I know Amber is that she sure loves burgers. Once, we went to the outlet malls and the highlight, after doing Fast Math at the Talbot's Purse Collection store, was the McDonald's Cheeseburgers. Or, was this a robot doppelganger, Liz Lemon, up to her eyeballs with the possibilities of the white-hot thrill of the burger?

Amber & the Craft of Dining

Last night we had a swell Birthday Fancy Feast to celebrate the wiggly, baby arrivals of Kevin and CRD into the world. We went to Craft for simple, well-prepared foods. Deliciousness, delight, and fun were had by all.

Although this guy from New York magazine wasn't floored by Craft, I was very impressed. There was some initial disappointment over dessert when Kevin discovered that the Lemon Beignets with Lemon Curd & Vanilla Ice Cream weren't on the menu (Kevin loves Lemon, but not Liz) and Diana and I were told that there were no pumpkin fritters left. (CRD was only disappointed when I accidentally made a pass at him.) But, the pastry chef, our hero, brought us out a delightful assortment of other goodies. And we got take-home biscotti which I am about to eat with my Webster Cafe coffee.

Thanks for being born, fellas. It sure tastes good to have you in my life.

Amber & Art Imitating My Life

If I was as fancy as CRD and knew how to post clips from programs, this would be a better post. The thing is that I am Liz Lemon. Jimmy reminded me that when he was writing his 30 Rock script, he pictured me as Liz Lemon, and based the story on something that happened to me in real life. And, of course, there is Shane's compliment as previously discussed.

Well. In last week's epsiode of 30 Rock, Liz Lemon reveals herself to be a gorilla enthusiast. From the IMDB synopsis...

Liz tearfully retorts that she didnt expect to end up here either "I had dreams, I was going to live with the gorillas!" And stalks out.... In the prop room Liz is reading a book called "More Human Than We" when Jack enters and startles her. She says that she was just reading about gorilla researchers for a sketch for the show: "we're making fun of them for devoting their lives to the jungle and its noble inhabitants."

Liz Lemon loves gorillas, too! I totally stalk out all the time! I read about gorillas, too!

I think Tina Fey read my blog and is sending me a message. Maybe she based the character of Liz Lemon on me....

Amber & Tina Fey

One of the nicest things anyone ever said to me was when Kevin told me that Shane told him that he thought that if they ever made a movie of my life I should be portrayed by Tina Fey. I was horribly flattered. I definitely think no one plays depressive anxiety as well as Tina, and I love watching 30 Rock on hulu.com.

However, Tina's recent casting in the film Baby Mama shows gives me concern. Since I do not want babies or to be a mama (and I even thought it was spelled momma!), I wonder if she would now bring too much baggage to the role-- and by baggage I mean diaper bags, strollers, and breast pumps.

Still, she does have good flippy hair.
