Amber & Tiny Cakes
Today, Kevin's dreams were realized. Imagine his joyous surprise when we got a box from Swiss Colony, his boyhood favorite. "I hope they are petit fours," said he. And lo! They were.
"It's my dream come true," said Kevin. The card said simply, "HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO MY PROFESSIONAL COLLEAGUES!"

Yay! I didn't even know Kevin was a Swiss Colony fan, so that is extra special. My family has been loyal customers since I was a baby.

To be clear, I did not at all exaggerate his reaction.
Every year as a little boy I would call the 800 number advertised on TV and order my very own free copy of the Swiss Colony catalog. I'd read it through page by page and carefully select what I thought would be appropriate Christmas gifts for family and friends. Maybe the basket of baby goudas. Maybe the summer sausage medley. Maybe the giant tower of petit fours.
But I never placed an order because I didn't have any money.
I haven't seen a Swiss Colony catalog in about 25 years, but it still conjures thoughts of holiday warmth and plenty and the spirit of giving.
