Note open mouth, tank top and use of headband (because even small hair is too much hair today).Desert creatures like kitties respond to the heat by stretching out on the floor, thus minimizing energy output and maximizing contact with a cool surface. Note partial belly exposure to capture any passing breezes.
Some prefer the under-middle-bed strategy. This may be more to do with the fact that the vacuum made an earlier appearance than the heat. (Note my bathing suit top in the foreground. How did that get there? I don't know. Why is it there? It has ties which are preferred cat entertainments.)

I haven't attempted it, but it looks somewhat promising.
Your cats' food looks like dried blueberries or maybe chocolate chips. I am intrigued.
That is a GENIUS invention, made better by the scientific approach taken to test it.
Their dry food, which they only get when I am traveling and they're only getting wet once a day, is this bunny-flavor kibble. http://www.naturesvariety.com/instinct_cat_kibble_rabbit
They love it.
Bunny flavor???
CRY!
Of course, my cat is eating chicky-piggy flavored food....but somehow bunny sounds so much more sad.
It is hard to own a pet as a vegetarian.
