It is indeed a Nick, and a yummy soup. It's a modified version of this one http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Potato-Corn-Chowder-242862 . To accommodate diners who can't partake of dairy, I excluded the heavy cream. Instead, I used half unchicken stock for the broth and then pureed some of the stock in the blender for thickness. The pepper had a little heat, so it had a sort of surprise kick to it.
